The Hoot Holler & Sing Campout is a one-of-a-kind weekend of performances, community, and pickin' hosted by Shaniko Music Sanctuary. Set against a stunning outdoor backdrop and within historic old-west buildings, this intimate gathering brings together musicians, songwriters, and music lovers for campfire jams, collaborative workshops, and unforgettable live performances. By day, you’ll connect, create, and learn; by night, you’ll sing under the stars, swap stories around the fire, and celebrate the joy of making music together. Whether you come to play, listen, or simply soak it all in, Hoot Holler & Sing is where harmony meets community.

Cost: Free to Attend

Lodging: Free camping (check in at the Shaniko Gas Station for guidance), or opt for full hookups at the Shaniko RV Park or a bed at the Shaniko Hotel (rooms will sell out!) --there's additional lodging in the neighboring town of Antelope -- just holler if you need help navigating :)

    Shaniko Hotel

    The Shaniko Hotel is a town staple. Built in 1897, it has recently reopened as a functioning hotel. Bring some hootin’, hollerin, and singin’ to the hotel steps or into the hotel saloon.

    Shaniko Gas Station

    Behind the Shaniko Gas Station, you’ll find hosted slow jams and the Saturday Cookout. You can check in here for more information, and to get any questions answered.

    Shaniko Chapel

    Built in the late 1800’s, ths building was orignally a schoolhouse and now serves as a chapel and music space. We’re currently fundraising to revitialize this historic space.

    The Edge of Town

    Within the town, classic horse-drawn stagecoaches sit, telling the stories of the folks they carried.

    Porch of The Ravensnest

    The Ravensnest is a local shop selling a collection of cowboy gems. Cowboy hats, antiques, jewelry, trinkets and the like. We’ll be holding our open mic on this stage :)

    Shaniko Barn

    Shaniko was the sheep capital of the world in the early 1900’s. The iconic Shaniko Barn is a memory of the economic boom that swept through the town at the beginning of the century.

The city of Shaniko has public restrooms open 24/7. They are clean, heated, and have flushing toilets. The entire town consists of a few blocks — everything is walkable. The restrooms are located in town just next to the Fire Department (and across from the hotel).
